Yes. What does hat have to do with helmet?

I don’t have sons, but safety first. Please don’t next tell me that your post pubescent DDs don’t wear seatbelts because it’s not tznius once they have a woman’s figure.

What does he do with his hat?
Like if my son is riding to shul, he's in his hat and jacket. Wearing a helmet makes it complicated.

You better believe it! And they wear a helmet when riding their electric scooters even when many boys don't. My son had a minor accident with it and boy was he appreciative he was wearing a helmet!
I bought those hat backpacks to keep their hats in while riding.
Safety first.

Safety first - 100% agreed!
That's why I'm trying to figure it out!

Ok, ok, I should've written the op better. The reason I'm asking is because I won't compromise on safety!
I don't want to make him crazy, so I'm trying to figure out how he's supposed to get to shul with his hat while wearing his helmet.

Cool, thank you!

(I love the example of which kind of hat it fits - fedora vs. cowboy hat!)

My son has something like this on his bike rack
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d....._titl
A hat can fit in the top bag.
But the bag ‘smile a day’ linked is more protective.

I've seen them in different dimensions for different types of hats. I don't know where you live but if you can get to a local store that sells it and have your son try to put his hat in it that would be the best.

Most boys in my community have this on their bikes. Many boys ride to yeshiva, so their hat & tefillin go in the bag.

Hat goes in a bag.
Sonny boy knows if he rides wearing his hat he can (and will) walk. He’s tested me a few times, but is now aware I am dead serious.

My son would ride his scooter and hang a plastic bag on the handlebar with his hat in it. Helmet wearing was not negotiable.

Same. Shopping bag hanging off his handle. The one time he neglected to wear a helmet in favor of his hat, he had to walk to shul for a week instead of riding, and he's aware that a second time would cost a month.

(I have a great, fun relationship with him, and am not crazy strict or punitive in general.)

He should wear a helmet! I was in a bike accident when I was in eighth grade. I wasn't wearing a helmet and I woke up in the hospital three days later!
