Are there any other parents of ASD boys who'd love to have a shabbos afternoon program for them? (We're talking about 2 hours.) Is there such a thing in Boro Park?

The really low functioning kids are taken to the park by high schoolers. What do all the other kids do (who cannot play with neighbors, etc.)?

Is he getting opwdd services?
Then why can’t there be somebody taking him out shabbos afternoon? And yes there are some official bnos/pirchei type respite programs on shabbos. Ask your care manager and service coordinator to help you find the ones in your area

Why must he be low functioning to be taken to the park by high schoolers? Is this part of their school chessed program? There’s no reason you can’t get on that list

Sometimes higher functioning children can be disruptive and unruly as,well as very active, making it hard for a high schooler to be able to accept responsibility for them.

He has OPWDD, but they weren't able to find someone to take him on shabbos.

Also, he'd be bored playing alone. While he's socially off, he does enjoy playing with other similar kids. He isn't wild in any way.

I've arranged the occasional playdate. But it would be easier to have a steady arrangement.

Reach out to the parents of his classmates to find other interested kids, and then ask the highschools for volunteers for this "program". You may need to hire or take turns to have an adult supervising there
