We are hosting an outdoor sheva brachos for about 50 people, including some kids. Mostly family.

Looking for an appetizer that will already be on the plates as guests arrive. Ideas please!

The tablecloths are white and gold. The buffet has a tablecloth with that has gold, shades of orange, and green. Yard is surrounded by green bushes.

I'd prefer not salad, but if that's your idea let's hear it!

My ideal would be some kind of slushy drink that melts into something also edible. For reference, a couple years ago at a similar event I served frozen lemonade slush with a frozen grape slush at the bottom. Grape slush drifted up as it melted creating an ombre effect. Was a hit! Tasted fine melted too. however colors will not work this time.....if anyone has ideas along these lines pretty pretty please share recipe.

Open to other ideas too.

And I'm assuming the amount of alcohol is too little to be an issue with driving home, is that correct?

Event will be short.

Personally I wouldn't appreciate food already on the table at an outdoor event out of fear of flies. I would want to at least see things tightly covered.

How about a shlushy lemonana in tall glass flute cup?

Lemonana
6 ½ cups water
¾ cup lemon juice
¼ cup lime juice
1 cup sugar
24 large fresh mint leaves

Blend one cup water with the rest of the ingredients. Add rest of the water. Freeze for about 2-4 hours, until partially frozen. Stir before serving.

You can top with a mint leaf, slice of lime.

You can also dip the rim in sugar.

You can also add a small bow around the bottom of the stem.
