I've started buying food stuff in walmart or target because I find it much cheaper than the jewish grocery stores.

I'd like to make myself a real list of things I can be buying here so I make the most of it. I grew up on only heimishe hechsherim so there are certain things I'm probably not even thinking to buy here so I'm looking for some help...

mostly the products need to have an OU.
So far my list:

sugar
flour
applesauce
mayo
ketchup
tomato sauce
pasta
drinks
bakings things like brown sugar, corn starch...
coffee
mustard
soy sauce

what else? fruits and veggies I already go to Aldi for.

The only things I buy in kosher stores are chicken, meat, fish and dairy. Once I'm there I'll grab things that look good and aren't available elsewhere, but nothing from my weekly shopping list.

I personally prefer Walmart produce vs Aldi produce. Imo it's better quality and usually cheaper too.

forgot to mention I only eat pas yisroel so I can't do crackers or pretzels or bread.

oil is a good one.

walmart produce is cheaper than Aldi? Not when I compared it last but I should probably compare it again then!

Aldi keeps raising their prices, every time I go their prices go up. I cant afford to buy some things I used to buy there and have had to go elsewhere.

Walmart raised prices as well, something I used to get for around $17 dollars is now $50 so I cant afford it anymore.

I wonder why no one is doing anything about the price gouging?

ShopRite also has good deals and sales. Sometimes they have good prices on brand name cereal, baby food, snapples, soda etc.

Not sure if that's an option for you.

But I also def noticed that prices in Aldi's are rising. Eggs there are more expensive than in Jewish stores too.

I am like previous OP. I do not buy anything in the jewish stores that I don't have to. Also Walmart usually has a kosher section. Check the prices, you may find cheaper items there than your kosher store (like Gefen noodle soups)
vinegar
candy for shabbos party
honey
pickles
pancake syrup
canned goods (corn, green beans, chick peas etc)
drinks
snacks
rice
oats
eggs
OJ
french fries
freeze pops
peanut butter
margarine (sometimes)

Popcorn seeds sell for about $1.50 or less. I wouldn't go to Dollar Tree for that, unless it's at least double the size.

I’m fascinated when people do the bulk of their shopping at the Jewish stores, unless they are still learning kashrut and Shoprite is overwhelming, or they bill about at >$250 an hour and really don’t have time but have money to burn.

I agree. Dollar store pantry items are often very low prices but also smaller sizes.
Regular or Family sized items at Shoprite and Walmart are usually better priced.
I become less impressed with Target every time I'm there. I wouldn't go there in search of inexpensive pantry items.
