I've been working really hard in Pilates class, trying to tone up all my extra baby flab. I definitely notice a difference on my legs and behind but my belly/upper abs aren't budging. I still have that pooch that won't budge since baby was born nearly 15m ago.

The instructor did tell me that I have a weak core and I'm not doing the abs exercises perfectly and I overcompensate with my back/neck (which both kill after the classes) but I should get better and stronger with practice.
But I don't see any improvement.
Any advice on figuring out how to use my stomach muscles correctly?
(I've been to PT and it didn't really help. They just told me to contract my TA which is what I am doing)

Private exercise coach or pt. Sounds like a bad physical therapist if the class instructor was able to point out what you’re doing wrong, but the pt therapist wasn’t able to.

From what I understand, you have to have really low body fat in order to see toned abs. I'm afraid there is no shortcut.

You can strengthen your muscles, but that won't reduce the fat or the skin of the area.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not looking for a six pack lol. I'm just looking to tighten up and lose some of the fat in the area.
Is that so impossible

abs are made in the kitchen - you gotta eat clean. also, the stomach is the last place to lose fat. lastly, you need cardio for fat loss. pilates is great but it can't be your only exercise
