We were "unofficially engaged" for 3 weeks. He proposed, I accepted. But his sister was getting married 3 weeks later and his parents prefered that we don't take away from her time in the spotlight. So we waited until after the wedding. (Funny thing: One of DH cousins met me at the wedding-I said I was a friend of the Kallah as we did go to the same high school-and after talking with me, she wanted to set me up with her cousin-my "unofficial chosson")
