I’m at a place in my life right now where I can’t handle food restrictions of any kind. I need to live free, uncalculated, not worrying about calories points etc. That being said however, I very much want to lose 5 lbs or so. One thing I’m good at is controlling my evening food intake. I know how to stop eating early and not eat till the next morning. So my question is, can I lose weight eating what I want until about 5 PM and then stopping to eat till morning?

I relate to your post very much. I find that I can not lose this way but I can maintain and not gain, even if I overeat, or eat the wrong foods.

Can you add exercise to your day?

If doing this would lower your calorie intake ie you regularly eat after 5 pm and stopping at 5 means you're eating less overall, then yes you can lose weight like this.
I would say try it, doesn't hurt.
