Im looking for an accountant in queens/5 towns area please.
The one we use now in Brooklyn is horrible. Our accountant now wont even pick up my husbands phone calls or emails.

In today's day and age, there is no need to have a local. Everything can be done through email or secure portal.

You don't need a local accountant.

I've never met any of my accountants.

Also, I took a recommendation from this site and do NOT recommend.

Someone who was recommended multiple times.

I also took a recommendation from this site and was not happy.

I use Mitchell Ackerman in far Rockaway.

He was excellent - very yashar, knew the laws well. Told us certain ages to pay tuition before a certain date because was better for us.
He might be a bit more expensive thank others but very experienced.

OP - not all accountants are going to be offering advice, some will just file your tax return. What you are looking for (and pay) will vary accordingly.

my husband started his own business and he wants to make a separate account to put money aside for taxes. he doesnt know how much to put aside. I emailed an accountant that came highly recommended and he wanted 150$ to answer the q... is that the going rate?
