I’m trying to figure out what a normal salary for a production director would be. To clarify, this is a school production. The candidate would be putting in several hours of work a day for about two months. What is a normal range to offer? If there is another person dedicated to just the musical part of the production, would that make a difference? How much would the musical director and executive director expect to earn?

Is this a high school or elementary?
In town or out of town?
Large all small school?
This all makes a difference

In town high school on the smaller side.
It’s not a full year job- the production will be early winter.

I tan such a production a few years ago and got paid $7500. I believe it was on the lower end. And now prices are def higher
Eta. I didn’t write the script, I just edited it and wrote all the songs. We paid a studio to create the music.

Did you practice daily with the students? Or did someone else run practice?
That’s more than I expected but we definitely want a professional job.

Yes and I had an assistant helping me with the technical aspects like costumes, lighting, stages
