Our school gives us a choice of dividing the regular tuition into 10 months or 12 months and then summer fees on top
$9000 over 10 months is $900 a month. Over 12 months is $750 a month.
But it's clear in our tuition contract that summer will be charged separately and depends a huge deal on the summer bussing rates. (Which they cannot predict the August before).

Doesn't it have to do with the cost of the trips/activities? I don't get "scamp" fees until after Pesach once the planning is underway.

I pay tuition over 10 months and scamp is its own charge. Some years I pay it in July like an 11th month of tuition and some years I pay half July half August.
