How bad is the challah going to be? I realized something was wrong when I saw that e dough had risen almost twice as much as normal in the same amount of time.

I did that once. It was surprisingly not bad, definitely edible just not as delicious as usual. Don’t worry.

It will be edible but you will feel the salt is missing.

I don’t think my kids even realized but I warned dh beforehand
It was fine especially since we had lots of dips with the challah

If you didn’t bake it yet, you can still add it. Probably with a bit of water. Easier to do in a mixer
