I was watching one of the Mr. Beast clips where he was giving out millions and it got me thinking - what would I do with it.

So here goes:

Buy a house
Buy another car
Get houses to invest in
Need a new outdoor grill
Cut my hours at work

What would you do with a million?

LOL was thinking the same - I could use my mil for one house and not take mortgage I guess. (Wouldn't even be enough...)

Don't mean to be such a downer but a million dollars isn't that much money. I mean at least in Israel it's basically enough to buy one apartment and now I do not mean a house I mean in Beit Shemesh it would pay for an apartment. Since we have a home and we can afford the mortgage I would probably invest it so by the time I have more kids that are getting married I wouldn't have to worry as much. Or maybe the investment would do so well I would have a down payment to get my kids for an apartment. Now if it was 10 or 20 million then it could be fun.

Hear all these plans... wouldnt work for me as a million wouldnt get me a house larger than my current apartment where I live...
But yeah, if someone just gave me 1 million dollars tax free and no strings attached I might put it towards buying a house if I could afford the taxes on it.
Otherwise I would invest it but right now I am concerned with inflation that investments might not be the way to go.
Funny enough smaller amounts are easier for me to think about spending- even amounts out of reach for me. We need a larger car BH but who has 50,000 to spend on that? (No used available unless absolutely junky).

Split it among my family. It wouldn't go as far as it used to, but it would help my son and DIL pay their mortgage down, give my niece a down payment, and help the rest of my family have an easier life.

With my share, I'd buy an iMac and a new mattress and hire cleaning help. It's nice to dream...

$1M is not that much after taxes and maaser. We're comfortable at the moment so we would probably invest.

When I see megamillion jackpots for the lottery, that's when I dream of what I'd do. First would be huge gifts to our parents and siblings to share the wealth, so to speak. Then a foundation for tzedaka. Then I would tear down our house which is in need of repairs and start from scratch rather than patch it up. A second car would be convenient. DH could quit his aggravating job and learn full time. I could outsource the domestic chores that definitely do not bring me joy and spend more quality time with my kids and volunteering. Down the list would probably be more interesting travel involving airplane trips rather than road trips or maybe a vacation place or apartment in Israel. I can dream, can't I?
