Try the pretieds. Some have a piece of velvet in front to help keep it in place. They are as tight as you tie it yourself and they hang down the back a bit.

I've found that snoods all start off short and get longer eventually, the more you wear them. THey also get looser eventually. The ones you're wearing now probably started off smaller and just got stretched out to the point that you're more comfortable in them...

I went on a search for you for these 'cos I know this frustrating snood struggle. I live in the Uk and buy these in a local shop, but perhaps someone on here knows where they sell these near you. I have a full drawer of snoods I cant wear 'cos they get smaller with the first wash, and then look awful on me.
These are SG baretim- but only these styles (that I know of)- do not shrink, and hang down a little bit- to give you height. They are also slightly bigger than a regular snood, and they're cotton- so great for the summer. I was so relieved to have found them!
The first one is best if you want it to hang down a bit more.

Is this brand sold in the United States, and if so, do you have a link? Thanks!
