Hi,
I'm starting to think about next year.
My son wants to go to sleepaway camp next year. He will be going into 9th grade.
We are Yeshivish out of town.
He feels Agudah Midwest might not be yeshivish enough for him
He has friends that have gone to Kol Torah, Tashbar, and Ruach Chaim.
I am not planning on sending to Kol Torah due to the campus (or lack thereof), even though I heard that the boys who go have an amazing time.
Can anyone tell me what other camps are comparable to those?
And how do Tashbar and Ruach Chaim differ.
This is a kid who's not really into sports.
We don't follow professional sports, never been to a real game.
Doesn't watch movies.
At most I'll let him watch something like a Hatzolah Concert online a few times a year (like Chol Hamoed).

My son went to Ruach Chaim for a couple of years.
The boys for the most part aren't into proffesional sports, but much of the day is sports activities (besides for the learning part), so if a boy doesn't enjoy playing sports, there's not much else.
One of the years that my son was there, he had a minor injury the first week, which made it hard for him to play sports. (Nothing serious, and nothing that was due to any negligence on the camp's part). He really didn't enjoy the rest of the summer, because he was quite bored.
All in all it was a good camp, and he had good experiences there.
