Hi, my 12-year-old daughter is going to camp for the first time and I'd like to get her a camera. Not too cheap that it doesn't take good pictures, but not too expensive in case she loses it or breaks it. Google gives me too many options. Can someone recommend a brand or item with links?

I don’t think they make cameras with bad quality pictures anymore. Even the $50 cameras are like ten times better than what I had when I was her age, 15 years ago.

Many smartphone have amazing cameras. If you have an old smartphone. Consider giving that to her. You can wipe it clean. And make sure it has a password to the play store etc that she doesn't have.

Camp won't allow any device with internet capability, so this wouldn't work.

I did buy her a poor quality camera when she was 9 and begging for one and not super responsible. I think she's ready for something more.

Many times Canon refurbished has great deals on their point and shoot cameras that come with a warranty directly from Canon. I've bought from them for a few kids and always been happy with the results.
