Thank you to all who responded.
Yes, I think it's irresponsible and negligent to not test and then go about your lives as if nothing happened. COVID is not a cold, and it's not the flu. It can be very nasty and is extremely contagious. Older people and those who are immunocompromised are at much greater risk. People are still dying - in much greater numbers than from the flu. Just because it's not in the headlines anymore doesn't mean it's disappeared. The new sub-variants' antibodies disappear at 28 days - which means that you could now, technically, get COVID every month - and that's much more likely if people treat it as nothing.
