My iPhone is with me the majority of the day. And I have relatives who do not text.
So perhaps I’m jaded. Perhaps I don’t know what I’m talking about. Perhaps I’m so used to technology that I no longer see potential dangers that exist.
That being said:
DH’s grandfather heard a rabbi in Europe rail against the new thing called bowling. It was a waste of time, a place of leitzanus, bittul Torah and more terrible things.
DH’s grandfather once traveled to another town with the rabbi. The train station had a bowling alley in the waiting area. The rabbi looked and told the grandfather, “If Yidden have free time, when they’re not learning Torah, they should do this, not the terrible bowling!”
