What am I supposed to be doing with my kids on these long hot afternoons? My kids come home from camp at 4:00 and are BORED until bedtime. They sit around and eat snacks and drive me crazy. And please give ideas other than taking them outside to play or swimming because I can’t take the heat.

Try playdough or clay - there are a lot of great books and websites for making clay animals, etc.

It is hot! Have them bathe, get in2 clean clothes and turn the AC up! board games, ice cream , watch a movie with popcorn. when your DC feels you spent some time with them, they won't need you for 4 hours. They will be happy with the time you had together. Just make sure the air is on. When the kids are comfy, they won't be cranky.
