I`m so mad. I just started this new job and I thought I was getting paid cash, it came to pay day and I got a check. the worst part about it is ... I do makeup and I use my makeup so most of the money I make I spend on makeup so I come home with not a lot also I do facials and I have to sell the skin care products for home care and I don't make any money on it so I am wasting my time selling products that I don't make any money off of, is that disgusting or what? what do u all think of this?and the other day I was the only one at the salon who does waxing and the owner didn't even pay me for all the waxing I did.

Did you not discuss the terms & conditions of your salary before taking the job? What does your contract say?

Shaina Punim,

Try and research other positions you might like that come with STEADY income. This place sounds really shady and unfair.
Good luck.

Sounds like you're being taken advantage of in certain ways, but on other points I might see your employer's point of view.

- Why should you have to use your own makeup - why doesn't your employer supply it?
- You might want to rework your conditions of employment, I.e. ask for a commission on the home-care products that you sell, or insist that your employer provide makeup products.

OTOH, regarding waxing, if you're being paid on a salary basis and not per-service, why should you be paid more because you did more waxing? Some days you have more work, and some days you have less. You should be tipped for waxing, so right there you're earning more money for doing more waxing.
