where can we do camel back riding near Jerusalem?
We just want about a 10 - 20 minute ride on the camel. Not a long tour that takes an hour.
Eretz bereishis is fully booked.
anything else?
Thanks!

or can anyone recommend a place up to an hour drive from Jerusalem? (the closer to Jerusalem the better)
Something with an ancient feel? and exciting for kids ages 8 to 16?
thanks!

Yew, it's very fun for that age.
The pictures on that site and Google are good.
We've taken kids of all ages, from 3 up to 20s. Very interesting for everyone.

Drive out towards the dead sea. You'll see camel rides available on your right.

There are generally camel rides for the offering on the road from JLM to the Dead Sea, like at the gas stations/rest stops in my opinion it’s a tourist trap, super expensive for like five minutes, but it sounds like what you’re looking for.
There used to be Bedouins offering camel rides near the old city as well (but I haven’t been in a while).

Maybe they have something like that in neot kedumim (which is also a lot of fun by itself..
)?

Sometimes there are Arabs offering very short camel rides at Ein Hemed.

Something important to note: I’ve been told that many of the offered camel rides are a halachic problem. The blankets used under the saddle are often shatnez which means (according to the rabbonim I’ve spoken to) you are not allowed to benefit from them by riding on them.
I know many people go on them. Please don’t assume they’ve looked into it. I was in line for rides with a very ‘chashuv’ ‘yeshivish’ family (who lives in E”Y) when someone came over & mentioned the issue. They had been totally unaware & we quickly left the line. I imagine many people don’t even consider the fact that there might be a problem.

What do the Bedouin at the side of the road charge for camel rides?
