Would you name two children with similar names like
Yehuda/Yehudis
Baruch/Bracha
Chaim/Chaya
Tova/Tuvia
Nechama/Nechemia
Would it matter if one name was used as middle name and child is not called by that name? Do you think some of these options are fine but not others? DH and I are disagreeing.

I wouldn’t as names they’re called by, but one as a middle name I would. Maybe not the last two, for some reason those sound more “samey” to me.

So my DH and one of my daughters actually have one of these similar pairs in common! But he doesn’t think they’re the same.
But he thinks we can’t use a grandparent’s name, even as a middle name, because they are the same. I’m just not hearing why some are the same and some are different to him.

I agree, I would only consider as a middle name that isn’t used. My current DC already goes by that name.
