Sorry didn’t know what forum to put this in.
If anyone has experience with a one time leak in the ceiling, should I be worried about mold growing? My son left the bathroom sink on upstairs and now there is a yellow stain on the living room ceiling. My husband just wants to paint it over because he says it was just a one time leak and it dried so no need to worry about mold…

It definitely can cause mold, but it's not guaranteed. Yellow doesn't necessarily mean mold.

Of course mold, can come from one leak.

Absolutely. What matters is not how many times s/t gets wet but how long it stays that way. Mold can start to grow within 24-48 hours, and if s/t stays damp for 72 hours it is guaranteed to grow. However, a stain doesn't necessarily mean mold.
