My 19 month old daughter isnt walking yet, and she is just beginning to stand independently. She is getting EI BH. She starts playgroup in 2 weeks and they sent out a letter that kids need to come in shoes.

What shoes do I get her if she isnt walking yet?
Can you share links please?

Would the walkers from HAL work?

Because the longer you keep your new walker (or non walker) out of hard soled shoes the healthier for their foot development. Ideally she’d wear nothing on her feet (or just socks) but if playgroup insists then robeez or something else with a really soft flexible sole is healthiest (told to me by my mom and confirmed by a pediatric orthopedist who specializes in walking and gait as well as by a PT)

Because they didn't fall off the foot in 30 seconds.

Good quality
Flexible sole and wide toe box
As close to barefoot as possible.
Just don't get them wet bc it ruins the leather

These are shoes for learning to walk.
They feel like barefoot but are not slippery snd protect the foot.
Any soft leather shoe would work (robees is just a brand).

You should check with ypur therapist, because I was advised to davka get hard sole/high ankle shoes for ds who also started walking late. Therapist said that it would help stabilize his foot and make walking easier for him. He made huge progress once we got him shoes.

For outdoor play? Although if she’s not walking, shoes won’t help much. I would discuss it with the Morah.

Yes, I agree. I keep her out of shoes and socks all the time. I was annoyed to see the letter from the playgroup as my daughters PT and chiro said to keep her out of shoes and socks. Im going to speak to the morah and see what w can do
