Sometimes if there's one that I can't catch, I tell my kids that whoever can kill it will get a prize. LOL Rolling Eyes Confused

call an exterminator and get FLY GEL. I was told by my exterminator that fruit flies are really SEWER flies Puke and that you need to prevent them from coming into your house...via the drains. You use this stuff to coat every drain in your house - sinks and bathtubs - and it keeps then from coming up. I used to keep a bottle on hand but can't remember where I got it. it really works!

For fruit flies, you must find the source, or you'll never get rid of them. Somewhere is a rotten plum or onion, and they're breeding in it. Find it, and they'll be gone in a day. In college, I once tried sprays, bug bombs, everything. Found the bag of onions and they disappeared.

They breed in any rotten fruit or vegetable that they can get into. Why not onions? You think fruit flies get concerned about fresh breath?

Good question. Maybe spray them with Rich's whip. Their arteries will harden and they'll eventually die, and it's non-toxic. If you have any left over, make a pie.

Hmm.... a much tastier way to go, if you were to grant them a last meal.

I sprayed my walls, counters, all around and waited a few hours. I washed it off very well with soap and water then wiped it. Havent seen anything since.

I tried whipped cream first but somehow they thought it was a party and invited thier relatives relatives.

like flowerpower said, don't leave any food out. then to get the flies, I use a vacuum hose and suck 'em up. gets them from cabinets and from in the air

I've never had to kill a fruit fly. Once I get rid of the banana, or whatever, they seem to vanish within hours. Either they leave or they die. Maybe there's a little tiny fruit fly burial ground somewhere in my apartment.

I spray them with windex. Spray on them in the air, and they drop like...flies!

I find them when I leave a bottle of wine out. They surround the cork. I clap em. Once you get one, the rest are easier. I would walk around with spray but then you get spray happy and usually get your own eyes.

they actually congragate somewhere near my milky sink. I don't have any food anywhere there. I guess it does have something to do with the sewer...so well be pouring some boiling water down the drain! hope that will work. I just hate killin' them. feel like such a murderer!
