אומפארגין
It’s a cool new word.
I assume it means jealous - can someone confirm the definition? Also, how is it pronounced? I want to start using it when my kids get into fights over who gets to sit in the front of car.

Imfargin
There isn't an English word for it.
It's a combination of jealousy and inability to be happy for others, and an attitude of "if I can't have it, she can't have it either."

Sorry. It doesn’t apply to our family. We are a very happy bunch that never fights or gets jealous. Ever!

The opposite of Fargin?
I'm a sephardi non Yiddish speaker, but that's one word you need to use in Yiddish, there's just no translation!
ETA I guess there are many words like that - without translation!

So it’s like harming another person / badmouthing due to jealousy?
Example: Rivka is jealous that Rochel is a stay at home mom. Rivka always talk about how Rochel needs to “get a job” because she’s so board and dumb….?

it's a feeling that you have when you are jealous of someone and you dont begrudge her the good that she has. I guess combine jealousy and not begrudge.

Imfargin is begrudge.
Not begrudge is the opposite of Imfargin.
