My first boy is turning 3 iyH. I'm completely new to the world of kippah's/yarmulkes. I want something personalized (Either English initial, Hebrew print of name, or Hebrew initial). I don't know anything about sizing, color, material, etc. I'd like to get it online. Any help?
Yeshivish, out of town if it makes a difference.

Every kid is a different size. Some start with 2, some with 5...

It's best to first go to the store to try on which size and brand fits best. Once you know what fits, you can order online.

I took my son to the store before he turned 3 and he measured a size 1. I thought that didn’t make sense so I also got a 2 which end up being too big. Every kid is different.

Try on a friends or neighbors yarmulka on for size. Go on shirt stop or double header website and you can design your own. My son started with a 2. I find most brands run the same, they sit a little differently on the head but the approx size is the same.

Ikippah has the measurements online. You can look and those and map it out on your kid's head.
I would start with a size 3. I order the personalized ones through double header online. Not sure of your community, but I do velvet. Except for when I visit a store, I stick only to ikippah (whether from their site or through double header for personalization) so I know the fit.
I've found fit to be flexible. My four year old has a bunch in sizes 3-5 and honestly none of them look off.

For reference I found keter runs a bit larger, maybe a half size bigger than ikippah.
