Hi I just heard of something called RSA.
Can someone explain this concept to me? How does one get an RSA job? Is it through telehealth?
Whats the pay rate for SLP RSA jobs in NY?

Going to also check reddit but figured I'd try posting here too.
Thanks!

Rsa is 90 an hour. It's getting paid through the doe instead of an agency. You bill them directly. It's not a W2, it's a 1099. Parents can get an rsa if they don't have someone from school etc servicing their child. It enables them to find a provider on their own which will be paid for by the doe.

That was a great explanation, thank you.
How does one go about finding these jobs?

Once you are approved by the doe to provide services this route, you are added to their directory. Parents may call you, or people may ask around looking for an rsa provider....word of mouth. Many people want after school hours or weekends etc as opposed to having a child pulled out of class.

I was gonna post, but bsy explained it well.

Practically speaking, many therapists will work during the school day for an agency. But they will also take a few RSA cases to do in the evenings/on sundays. It's a nice way to make a decent amount of extra cash.

Depending on my stage in life and how busy I am with family, some years I take on more RSA's and some years less.

I don't think the DOE allows teletherapy anymore. That was only during covid. Either the child comes to you or you go to them.

Remote is still an option. Not sure how much longer but this summer it was an option.
