I think prevail usually implies emerging victorious.
In my mind, this word carries an implication of two sides in conflict, and only one side can win.
Perhaps one could prevail against an illness, for example, but I don’t know if I’d use it in a general encouragement way. It’s more like the verb “triumph” as opposed to “hold on” to me.
I’d need more context to decide 🤷🏻♀️
