We are looking for inexpensive but with all/most of safety features. TIA. I don’t need a van since we are empty nesters.

Toyota Corolla. Reliable and has a lot of safety features on the base model. Wish it had blind spot monitoring but that's available as an upgrade.

I like sport utility cars. When I am an empty nester I will likely get a Honda CR-V or a Toyota Rav 4 or a Jeep. I’m not a fan of sedans.

Toyota Rav4. Especially if you live in a place where it snows as it has 4 wheel drive.

Hyundai Elantra. Very reasonably priced and they totally upped their safety features. We bought one pesach time and have been super happy with if. They also had great financing rates if you're buying from a Hyundai dealership
