I don't think you can collect bituach leumi old age pension if you don't live in Israel.

I was out of the country last year for 5 months and they already sent me a letter asking me when I was coming back and saying they would stop my payments if I didn't return.

I heard of someone that did collect and doesn't live in Israel. But I don't know the details. Why should it matter where you live, if you paid taxes all along when you worked, you should be eligible. The US gives social security even if you don't live there in retirement.

It seems to me from the site that you can only get it in America if you started getting it in Israel and moved to USA afterwards. If you aren't living in Israel at all at the age of retirement, you don't get it.

Israel and the US have reciprocity agreements for some things, and that's why you can get Social Security if you live in Israel.

That's not true everywhere. For example, Holland won't pay out a Dutch pension if you become an Israeli citizen.

You may need a lawyer from your home country to help sort this out.
