Can your veins pop out from stress? Work overload?
Im very young, but have had terrible varicose veins in pregnancy. Thankfully, they went away after the baby... and out of the blue THEY ARE BACK! (this is many months later)
Of course, I took a test right away and ruled out pregnancy. So what could have caused this?

You may want to switch to wearing compression stockings every day, ASAP to prevent recurrence and worsening of the varicose veins.

Speaking from experience. I wish I had started wearing them sooner. They’re awesome at preventing worsening AND alleviating symptoms.

So there's your answer. Go for compression stockings/tights. Another recommendation to strengthen the venous system is to do alternating warm and cold water gushes on your lower and upper legs, in the shower.
When sitting, prop your feet up whenever possible, to reduce pressure in the veins.
A warning: if you get sudden swelling and/or popping out of multiple veins on only one leg, it can be a sign of deep vein thrombosis.
