Shmitta as in Kedushat Shviis? You can eat them and make sure there are no leftovers. That's the simplest. If there are leftovers (even tiny pieces) you need to dispose of them in a Shmita bin.

I think the store is a kosher store. |
Why do you think it's kedushat shviit? It's more likely heter mechira, if it's Israeli fruit being sold in chul. Many rabanim don't have a problem with heter mechira, it's the only way for exporters to continue to sell during shmita afaik. If you're concerned whether you may eat it, I recommend you ask your local rabbi because there are quite a few opinions as to its status.

Somebody bought you fruit in EY and brought it back home to USA? If yes, that person should learn hilchot shmitta. You are forbidden to eat shmitta outside EY.
it's also forbidden to give to a non-jew to eat.
Ask your rabbi what to do.

This thread shows that even if you live outside EY it's important to be somewhat versed in hilchot shmitta.

I haven’t eaten it because I wasn’t sure about it. |
She brought it back from Israel?
Yes, it's definitely a problem to eat shmittah produce outside of Israel. Speak to your LOR.

It's praiseworthy that OP has the yirat shamayim to check in advance.
