Someone brought me as a gift some fruits that are shmitta. Can I eat them? What do I do with them? I don’t know the halachos.

Shmitta as in Kedushat Shviis? You can eat them and make sure there are no leftovers. That's the simplest. If there are leftovers (even tiny pieces) you need to dispose of them in a Shmita bin.

It's a great זכות to eat the holy produce of the seventh year. If anything edible is left over, wrap it in plastic and put it away until it spoils. Then you can throw it out.

Are you in Israel, because as far as I’m aware fruit that has kedushas sheviis is not allowed to leave ey.
If you are outside of ey you should ask a rav what to do with it.

It’s repackaged from a store. Like a plastic container with a paper label. No hechsher on the container. Does it need a hechsher?
I think the store is a kosher store.

Why do you think it's kedushat shviit? It's more likely heter mechira, if it's Israeli fruit being sold in chul. Many rabanim don't have a problem with heter mechira, it's the only way for exporters to continue to sell during shmita afaik. If you're concerned whether you may eat it, I recommend you ask your local rabbi because there are quite a few opinions as to its status.

Somebody bought you fruit in EY and brought it back home to USA? If yes, that person should learn hilchot shmitta. You are forbidden to eat shmitta outside EY.
it's also forbidden to give to a non-jew to eat.
Ask your rabbi what to do.

I would guess, though, that plain fruit marked grown in Israel is likely to be heter mechira. Consult with a rabbi about your options.

I was told that it’s shmitta produce. I had no idea of any of this and neither did my friend who brought it back and gave it to me.

I haven’t eaten it because I wasn’t sure about it.

Yes, it's definitely a problem to eat shmittah produce outside of Israel. Speak to your LOR.
