Do you keep or toss the birthday and mazel tov cards that you get? And if you keep, where do you keep them?

Depends.
Birthday cards that are meaningful to me (from my husband, kids, mother etc) is kept.
Mazel tov cards I don’t keep. Those are usually very generic.
I keep them in a folder in my files box.

If it's a significant celebration, like a new baby or a Bar Mitzvah I stick them in an album.
If its stam birthday cards, in theory I throw them out a few weeks later, but in practice they often hang around in odd corners. Then when my mother was niftar, I was so glad to find I still had the past few years of birthday cards from her. They suddenly became very precious.
My mother was a kindergarten teacher, and she always tore the back off and took the pictures in for the children to use.

I like the idea of putting significant event cards into album. I also like saving for sentimental reasons. I just find they take up so much space!
It's also true that some generic ones may not need to be saved.
I once tried photographing a bunch and discarding the originals. But I realized the kids just don't appreciate/enjoy them the same at all. Like almost not kidai.
So I'm still undecided. In the mean time I have a whole pile of them sitting on my table from my post spring cleaning......
