My (soon to be) 9 year old DD has recently started eating loads and she is also constantly hungry. She also gets very agitated when she is hungry.
This evening she at a smallish shnitzel, some couscous, and only a bit of soup. She then said she was hungry and I gave her 2 slices of bread, she was still hungry and I cut her up a pepper and small cucumber and she finished the whole lot.
Has anyone had it? Was it a growth spurt and how long did it take to pass?

my daughter put up some weight about that time, rather nearing 10.
she then grew a good few inches. in one year
I would say its a growth spurt
and she slimmed down

Actually that sounds totally normal to me. One of my dds grew 6 inches between her 10th and 11th birthdays!

I’m thinking growth spurt or beginnings of puberty. All my girls had that phase, age 10-11ish getting very hungry.

Almost certainly normal and pre-puberty. If she's also extremely thirsty and/or urinating unusually frequently, her blood sugar should get checked.

I echo what others said.
Notice though that she didn't eat a lot of protein in your example. I'd make sure she's eating enough protein and healthy fats

Any other behaviors that started recently? Is she otherwise typically developing ?
