In the house.
You can light candles at the place you'll be eating or in the home you'll be sleeping. Just like when you light at home and eat out for a meal somewhere else.

In the succa. We have the glass box from the chanukiah hanging on the wall, and the candles go in that.

Apart from the safety, we like to emphasize the link between succos and Chanukah.

Ideally you should light in the sukka.
Personally, I light in the house, in my usual spot, because we have a strong AC in the sukka (we are in Florida) and it would get blown out.

What is the link?

Inside, same place as always. I’m nervous to have them on my dining room table with kids running around, and I don’t want to take them out to the back yard.

The original celebration of Chanukah was partly making up for the Succos they had been unable to celebrate due to the Greeks decrees. That is why Beit Shammai holds that one should start with eight candles and decrease - similar to the korbanis on Succos. Chanukah marks the police harvest, thecsame way Succos marks the general harvest.

The more you look into it, the more parallels you find in the halachos and celebrations.

On my kitchen counter so we can see them from the succa!
Succa is on my porch, right off the kitchen!

Used to light in the succah but bh we have more kids and grandchildren and small succah so afraid they will topple over
I sometimes light in the succah and my husband moves them to the dining room after where we could see them from the succah.

In the house for reasons of safety and practicality.

Inside where I usually light. My sukkah is small and down steps/not attached to my house so I’m not comfortable lighting there. One day I hope to have a bigger sukkah on a deck and I would light in a side table as my mother and mil both did.

In the sukkah. Simple tea lights on a huge ceramic dish with a glass box around it.
