I know the sister well. She has brought up both boys as if they were her own children. They are doing well

I was very bothered that it was in the Sukkos issue. What a tragic story! I remember when it happened and often wondered about her, but never knew where to find out. Now that I got my answer I just feel so sad to have learned the truth. I just kept hoping she was doing well... Oy.

btw: Anyone else wonder what the father's "first words" were? They mention that when she was awake all she remembered were the first words her father said. It really got me curious...

I remember when this happened since I’m probably a little older than most of you. It’s really scary that she had a premonition that something would happen.
I agree that this didn’t belong in the succos issue since it’s really very sad.
I think Ami magazine also had another horrific story about people killed in a plane crash.
Unfortunately since this is real it probably would have been better had it been published in the tisha B’Av issue.
May the families have a nechama b’korov.

I rarely get moved by anything I read, but this story is horrid.

Much love to the family and those impacted.

Ps. The article never addressed the emotional trauma the tragedy and the aftermath caused to the related. Given that this was over twenty years ago, I sincerely hope they got help and support for that.

The Yom Tov magazines are more expensive because they're for 2 shabosos worth (and Yom Tov) of reading material.

Although I agree that they should be
We are paying for a thick magazine with many, many ads. The advertisers already paid a fortune for their ads so it’s really not right that they charge us so much. Yes, there is a little more reading material over y’t but the thickness of the magazine is mostly from ads.
