Anyone have a recipe that is similar to the muffins sold by nutritionists (there are a bunch of brands that do this) they are all so expensive I’d like to make my own. I want to keep them u def 200 calories. Anyone?

I asked my RD about this because I wanted to bake something healthy. She told me that muffins are cake, and that cake isn’t healthy. She also suggested buying “Muffin top” baking sheets, to bake just the top.

Ok but there are nutritionists that have their own lines of muffins.. so it’s doable in a diet..

I make these banana muffins and they are perfect for breakfast.
Yes I eat “cake” almost every day.
3 bananas mashed
1/2 lemon squeezed
1/2 t salt
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 c olive oil
1/2 c maple syrup
2 cups white spelt flour
Add ins whatever you like I use choc chips.
Mix all together pour in muffin pans and bake 350 for 15-20 minutes.
I usually get 18 muffins.
Calories per muffin
177
Protein 2.38 grams
Carbs 24.75 grams
Fat 8.13 grams
It’s not high in protein therefore I usually pair it with a protein shake. I’ve lost 40 pounds this year while consuming pancakes and muffins. It’s all about balance.

Are you working with a nutritionist
Depending on the nutrionist’s plan these muffins are made from that list of ingredients
Are you just looking for a healthy muffin under 200calories

I would love to know what makes one consider a muffin healthy or not healthy.
Is it whole grain and fiber?
Is it low carb?
Low fat?
High protein?
Low calorie?
Gluten-free?
Paleo?
Avoiding artificial ingredients?
Limiting processed foods?
Moderation and portion size?
You can substitute apple sauce for oil, artificial sweetener for sugar, use low calorie or low carb or gluten free flour. You can add protein powder.
What are your goals? Healthy doesn’t mean anything.
