Hi,

I find that I spend a lot of time on my phone and don't get things done. I don't like it for other reasons as well.

I believe part of the reason I spend a lot of time on my phone is because during the day I have times I don't need to be busy and I have the time and availability to be on my phone. To me it has been a way to relax and have downtime etc...

At this point it turned into a habit and I'd really like to cut back.
I find I just want to be on my phone all day.

Can anyone share some tips on how to cut back (and not feel like you just want to be on your phone at the times that your not)?

I put a time limit on all my apps that I don’t need always available (phone, text, banking, work apps). I put a 25 minute limit on internet use. I hold my own screen time pw, but I have to put it in every time I’m making changes. I think I’ve been putting my phone down more because it’s not interesting. I would consider getting a flip phone at this point- but I work in healthcare and I have a paging/messaging app that I need and isn’t available on anything but iPhone and android phones. So I’m a little stuck there.

That's an interesting idea!
I'm referring to putting on a time limit.

At this time a flip phone wouldn't work for me either.

Would love some more ideas!

I have a time limit too, on all my entertainment apps combined.
my phone is also always on vibrate (which wok probably wouldn’t be possible for everyone but works for me) so I’m not constantly listening out for the pings.

You can play around with apple screen time, they have lots of options to help limit screen time.

I've also muted all notification sounds so all my phone does is ring.

Is there a way to put an limit amount on an apps in android phones?
I have a galaxy phone.

Not sure, but I googled it and I see you should go to digital well-being and parental controls in settings.
