Yes. And I also have received emails from 2 out of 3 of my kids schools and our shul that they are stepping up security and monitoring the situation.

I never understood why shuls and schools are so publicly open for anyone to enter. There should be a system with a guard outside the building and a shul member ID card to gain access to the building.
Anyone have info on the details of the threat and what they found?

I read it's not specific to any shul and it's not a bomb threat. Nerve-wrecking

Apparently there was chatter online. Previous attacks have stemmed from similar conversations in similar forums.

Ideally they are open so that anyone who wants to daven or needs a place is welcome. I know shuls in other parts of the world do have those kinds of systems because it's needed for safety. I hope we don't have to move in that direction.

The FBI felt the need to publish this so it means it's a credible threat. They don't always publish these things.

In the US its not so common to have a guard, but most shuls do have locked doors and a combination to get in. If you go to Europe, though, a lot of shuls in places like Venice, Rome etc do have armed guards and they'll only let you in as an outsider if you're verified.

an arrest has been made. threat was announced when they saw a post made by an outspoken antisemite.
threat is considered mitigated, but authorities still being on the alert.
