If you chose 14" deep upper Kitchen Cabinets, instead of the standard 12" deep, are you happy you chose 14"?

I wouldn't. You can't reach the back and it will become a mess. Many narrow cabinets are much better, stay neater.

Ok, thanks.

Do others agree? A friend said she has narrower kitchen cabinets than she had previously (14") and nothing fits.

Check the inside of your cabinets now. You might currently have as shallow as 9". You'll have more of an idea of what you're dealing with when you know what you are using now.

Cabinet depth is measured from the exterior. My very old cabinets are 12" deep.

I was thinking that deep is better and will fit more, unless theres some disadvantage.

Definitely get 14” upper cabinets as you can fit more stuff in. Platters and many dinner plates don’t fit well in a 12” space. Don’t forget that you need to measure interior space.

There is no problem reaching items stored as the extra inch or two isn’t significant in terms of reaching.
