Not such a fan of Yiddish names, but will probably name this if I have a girl
What are some nicknames?
I know of Raizy and Rizi (pronounced reezee)
Any other ideas?

You could also use Shoshana as a direct translation, if that works for you.

And I love Raizy even more
Some people switch the name to shoshana. I like Raizel better than shoshana…

I heard that raizel and Roiza are two different names. And that roiza is shoshana and raizel has a different meaning.

Roiza means a rose, like shoshana is a rose.
What does Raizel mean? I thought it had the same meaning.

I don’t remember what I was told.
I had asked someone how they gave the name raizel when a grandmothers name was roiza and the grandmother was still alive. And I was told it’s a different name.

Actually you’re right. It is 2 different names. I just remembered that I know a family who has a raizy and another girl roiza. They said they asked and were told it’s 2 different meanings. I think one daughter is called by a second name so it’s not confusing.
So I’m wondering, what does raizel mean?

Raizel is yiddish for Shoshana. Maybe you can use the name Shoshana.
