All these threads about saving and bills etc really drove home an idea I’ve been thinking a lot about which is that finances is personal and individual for every family.

One family can make 400k and feel like they barely have left over while another can make 120k and put away a lot in savings!

It’s so interesting that while a sum of money is objective, how far it gets you is completely subjective.

It's true. Because there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of decisions that you make when spending money.

Some of them are made based on urgent need.
Some are made because of human error or forgetfulness.
Some are responsible or with solid foresight.
Some are based entirely on our values or priorities.
Others are impulsive decisions.

That's why it's so valuable for a store to have access to your purchase history. It enables them to learn a lot about you and what makes you tick.

While it's true in the sense that everyone has different priorities and approaches to money, does it also take into consideration all the "add-ons " people in lower income brackets have? That could also explain a lot.
