do you recommend it for someone looking to go to college or regret becoming a setts provider? Can you tell me more about your job, hours, pay, etc? What is the paperwork like?

PSA - it’s SETSS (Special Education Teacher Support Services) NOT SETTS.

(Sorry. Not a SETSS provider, so can’t help with your question.)

When I was a SETSS provider, I enjoyed the work because I love teaching children and was relieved not have to make lesson plans, grade papers, and do behavior management for a whole class. But I hated the paperwork, particularly having to keep and submit the billing invoices. It took up a lot of time.

I only do it part time. I like the 1 on 1 rather than whole class. Easy billing. Barely any paperwork. Sometimes once a year progress reports.
I used to do a group at school. So that was like small classroom teaching. Now I just do privately and/or through an agency after school.
Pay rates are low to high, depending on who you work for, group size, if enhanced or not etc...

You need state teacher certification for students with disabilities in or near the appropriate grade level.
