I plan to wax my upper lip for the first time, at home, with an at home kit. Can those of you who have done this please tell me, does it really hurt? Ive always had hair un my upper lip, but its gotten a bit worse and I used to just cut the hairs every now and then, but Im sick of having to do this and want to be able to not have to think about it for a while.
So does it hurt? How long does it last until you have to do it again?

Yes, it hurts, but the good thing is that it’s quick because it’s a small space. Beware that it doesn’t last that long. Maybe two weeks or so before you have to at least tweeze to maintain.

Ah, it only lasts that short amount of time? Then its possibly not even worth it. I mean, I dont snip the hairs every day. Thank you for the information.

There are so many bad reviews on the website. Makes me nervous to try.

Aren't the chemicals dangerous if you use it often?

I have gotten chemical burns from Nair products and the like. And honestly, those are the same exact thing as shaving. It just burns the hair off from the surface upward instead of cutting it.
I use a little facial shaver thing for my upper lip and no, my hair has not grown in thicker in the last 10 years I have been doing that.

Is it painful? Is it expensive?

Bliss waxing kit I get online from target - exactly like the spa and European wax center uses blue hard wax u microwave it first and it's basically painless

The initial layout is definitely more than waxing or other methods but it lasts for years. When I did it it was painful but I hear that laser has become less painful. I see ads for pain-free laser.

I use waxing strips for upper lip often and I find the sensation rather satisfying. Just make sure to pull it off in one go!

I know this is a stupid question but doesn't that treif up your microwave? (Not casting doubt on you at all. I just have never used this kind of thing for fear I would treif up my microwave. I'm a BT so I don't know all the ins and outs of this stuff.)

I use sally hansen waxing strips. They aren't shaving but they are ok.
Hurt like pulling off a piece of tape bandaid.
T hen I tweeze dark hairs and maybe do the strips a month later

Not a stupid question.
I'm sure it's a good Sheila (don't know the answer, but haven't asked and haven't done it)

Electrolysis is permanent. It can take a year or two of treatments but totally worth it! Laser didn't work for my upper lip.
