Canada and the USA are pretty large, so we need a little more info. It makes a big difference if you're coming from Vancouver or Toronto, LA or NY, or somewhere in between.

There are hotels in Scranton that are walking distance to shuls there where frum families often go for Shabbos. Check out the Hilton and Radisson. Binghamton is about halfway, and I believe there are hotels very close to Chabad of Binghamton, which could probably help out with meals in exchange for a nice donation. Check out Residence Inn Binghamton, which offers larger suites with kitchenettes that are nice for Shabbos.

Chabad Saratoga has not gotten back to us. Which makes me assume it’s not an option.
I should have looked into this sooner 😔

Any other options that have been tried ?
Someone mentioned ithica….. that’s pretty far from New York. It’s right outside buffalo right?

Anyone else ?

Are you just looking for a place to meet up or you want attractions nearby? There is a chabad in Binghamton which is close to halfway, Scranton and Kingston pa have communities as well (Kingston has more kosher food but it's further from Toronto), there's plenty to do in the Poconos and in western New York. Also makes a difference if you're bringing your own food or want there.

Shabbos Chanukah is during secular college winter break so places that have college based Chabad/Hillels could very well be in vacation mode that week.

We went to Greek peak resort last year. I think that might be half way for both sides. It's in cortland ny. Last year the hotel was rented out. I don't think it was this year, but you'd have to bring your own stuff,torah etc.

If you find a place in South Vermont it's 4hrs for everyone. There is chabad in Burlington.
