I always loved chanuka. Now that my oldest is three I feel like he really could enjoy and appreciate it! Any ideas tips and fun things you do each night to make chanuka special???

Day 1: bake and decorate Chanukah cookies
Day 2: Chanukah crafts to hang up and decorate the house
Day 3: Make latkes
Day 4: Chanukah presents
Day 5: Make mini donuts
Day 6: create a menorah using a styrofoam and skewers stuck in like a menorah. Thread fruit loops in different color onto each skewer and top with a jelly bean
Day 7: put on a Chanukah play
Day 8: dreidel game with chocolate coins or real coins

I give something out every night. Weather a big present, a small prize, a Chanukah craft, chocolate coins, donuts or Latkes.. it’s always something.

We like to have a glow in the dark dance party with light sticks and chunukah music. I buy as many kinds of cheap dreidles as I can find (light up, singing, ones that draw etc.)and keep them in a box all Chanukah and we just spin them all the time.

Some things we do:

Make our own at-home heavenly fried things party Smile. I don't normally fry chicken during the year, so freshly fried chicken is a treat. And I buy nice party paper goods and its a lot of fun. We learned the hard way that latkas cannot be the same time as the chicken... So only one fried food at a time.

We pile in the car and drive around town looking at menorahs. Its just cozy and festive with music and its something small and special that we enjoy.
