We get bored of foods often. I make different dips every week. Now I want something instead of dips and salads, that can be served at the fish course. Any ideas? Thank you

Salad?
Personally I am not understanding the dips. To me it is extra challah and fat/Mayo.

I rarely make mayo dips actually. Many dips need no mayo and very little fat, mainly Israeli style like humus, matboucha etc. I also serve many salads with the dips. Looking for something light to be eaten with fish course but not dips. Or salads.

Serve a hot fish dish like morrocan fish
or teriyaki salmon on a bed of ramen noodles

I recently tried a new fish appetizer dish of all places ELAL flight
But I’m not sure how I would feel serving it on Shabbos since for us lentils is an avelut type of food
Lentils with salmon cubes
It was AMAZINGLY delicious
Served warm or room temp

I googled it and it seems it’s popular in France

How about a salad?

Yeah, I know you said "not salads", plural, which I assume means all those little salads: carrot salad, cucumber salad, corn salad, cabbage salad, etc. etc. I'm talking a nice big garden salad. If you absolutely do not want any salad, I sometimes give everyone a portion of salmon teriyaki with sesame noodles.

Peas Love and Carrots has a stewed chickpea recipe in her book. Like Moroccan fish without the fish.

I once was a guest at someone’s house and they cooked cubed potatoes with the Gefilte fish. They were all eating little potato pieces when they ate fish.
Why not dips? Which dips are you bored of? I LOVE challah with different dips. I was reading this thread for other ideas because I’m gaining so much weight from all the extra challah with dips! Bored? No way… it’s the best part of the shabbos meal!
When I was a kid we just ate fish with Chrain and that’s it .
My kids don’t eat fish so they busy themselves with dips, hot peppers and pickles.

We don't do dips, nor do we do gefilte fish. We start the meal with fruit salad, progress to soup, (not Progresso Soup, hahahah), and then chicken, salad, and kugel. Cholent occasionally when we have company. Occasionally a second or even third veggie dish. Then dessert if anyone wants, which usually they don't. IMHO dips are completely unnecessary and only serve as an excuse to eat more challah--which maybe I would do if chas vesholom we couldn't afford or find chicken, meat or fish. Dips we save for seudah shlishit when nobody feels like eating much anyway. I really dislike it when people serve a "dips" course because I'm ravenous, everyone else is eating, and it takes a stronger woman than I am to keep her mouth shut and wait for the main event. So I'm filling up on challah, thanks loads.
