So sorry for your pain, they really can be very painful. Unfortunately, I don’t have a remedy. But wanted to mention- Not sure if this happens regularly for you but my son used to get canker sores quite often. I did some research and learned that sls - sodium laurel sulfate, commonly found in toothpaste, can cause it. Since we eliminated it, he BH hasn’t had any.

Wow thank you, that is good info. I also used to get these regularly and this might be why. I haven't had one in a long time BH. Hated them! Once or twice I had two at the same time.

Rinse with salt water. Do it as many times as you can. IME, within 24 hours of rinsing, the sores get smaller and start to go away.

Yes I've heard about it too. Which toothpaste do you use? My kids always get them even though they use the Burt Bees toothpaste that does not contain SLS.

I actually get them often when I chew gum.
Any cold sore medicine should be able to help it.
Good luck!

Same.

But specifically one with NovaMin, and I don't think you can find NovaMin ones by walking into a store in America. I've done a bit of research since reading this thread, and the non-NovaMin ones do have SLS. (They're also just plain inferior.)
