I think a full suit is very mature for a little boy. Shorts gives it a cute young look.

My older son will be wearing suit iyh . The little one is too petite build for a suit and yes I still want him to be "cute"

My very petite 5 year old wore a suit to a wedding last year, it fit him beautifully and it was so cute. There were no other little boys to match, all the older boys were wearing suits so so I felt anything else would make for a less cohesive family photo.
