I think lots of imas are bothered that the hug button is being misused. Perhaps we can solve that by either adding buttons or removing. Maybe if we get enough votes for adding a disagree button we can send this to the board to change it.

Please vote so we can make imamother better!

I liked cupcake123's suggestion on the other thread. That we should be able to see who hugged a post.

Do people really look back at their own posts to see if they were liked/hugged? I never do...

These other platforms also have the option for users to click on reactions to see who reacted in what way to each post. If you don’t click on the reactions, you don’t see much (see circled in red). I don’t find it distracting at all honestly—no GIFs unless you are selecting a specific reaction.

No, we don't need another, even easier, way to make someone feel unliked or outcast.

Hugs are sometimes used that way now, but at least it's ambiguous. A dislike would remove all doubt.

I think these buttons give people an ability to be passive aggressive without sharing their thoughts. A 100 likes on a comment that insults the person they are responding to, is like hugs.

Omit all buttons.

Not quite. Because if somebody posts a hardship they're going through whether it's marriage, health, etc I hug them. I really feel bad for them and the hug is genuine.

Sometimes I want to give someone a hug, but I don't, because I'm afraid they may see it as something else. If we add a disagree button hugs will be meaningful, like they were originally meant to be.

Also I think If your are willing to share your thaughts online, you need to be open to the idea that people may disagree. I don't see anything wrong with a "respectfully disagree" button. We're adults.

I'm all for disagreeing but unfortunately many on here would get offended. I don't take things personally but many do. No need to hurt others and see the amount of people who disagree

You can post {{{HUG}}} instead, with as many brackets as you like. If you're really sympathizing, you can take the extra thirty seconds to do this.
